What should you wear to practice?
Anything that you don't mind getting wet and you can move in! Any athletic/work out clothes is fine. We do not wear our shoes in the canoes as a sign of respect, however, water shoes are acceptable.
What should you bring to practice?
Yourself! And some water! Lokahi has paddles for you to use and life vests as well. Bring warm clothes to change into after practice, it can get a little cold at night. We have a locking shed where you can store your keys/phones.
What should I expect of a typical practice?
We are in the middle of our sprint season, so we will be focussing on sprint drills, turns and endurance. It will be a fast paced work out, but you will have so much fun! In August, our long distance season begins and you can expect to go 8+ miles per practice. (You can bring snacks/energy bars, etc for those).
Where do you meet?
We meet right next to the Harbor Master's office at the Petaluma Marina. You'll see the large black and white canoes along the pathways. Come on by and say hello!
